Yesterday, Marvel Studios officially announced that the Captain Marvel sequel (aka Captain Marvel 2) will be called The Marvels. The title of the upcoming film was revealed along with many other titles and release dates of Marvel Studios movies. They will make up Phase Four of the MCU. We can find the title of the movie in a new Marvel Studios Phase 4 trailer. Though there is no footage, from the video, we can learn that it will be released on November 11, 2022.
Though many have been thinking the next movie from this series will be called Captain Marvel 2, Marvel Studios has decided to rename it because Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers will be having a lot of help this time around. Plus, we know that Iman Vellani will be starring in the movie as Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel. But this is not the only appearance of this character in Marvel movies. She will also be featured in her own Ms. Marvel series on Disney+. WandaVision’s Teyonah Parris will return as Monica Rambeau. In fact, we learned about their involvement in the sequel back in December 2020. At the same time, we heard Nia DaCosta will direct the film. He is known from the remake of Candyman.

In fact, the video doesn’t reveal any detail about The Marvels. It only shows how happy Brie Larson is to return. In the video shared by Larson on her YouTube account, she talks about how “excited” she is to revisit Carol Danvers for the upcoming sequel.
“It’s amazing, and I’m so excited that it’s announced, and I can talk about it,” Larson said. “Nia is amazing, and she got the job because she is the best person for the job. That’s one of my favorite parts about this. She just gave an incredible presentation and I’m inspired by her. She has confidence. It’s a big deal to step into like, this thing, the Marvel universe, it’s this huge thing! And to have a leader who’s just like, ‘Yeah, I’m meant to be here.'”
The first Captain Marvel was directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck. If you remember, in this movie, we also met Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Annette Bening, Clark Gregg, and Jude Law. Such a company made the Captain Marvel gross over $1.1 billion worldwide.
Interestingly, we will soon see a new sequel titled Black Panther 2. Like the one we have been talking above, this film be called Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Finally, in the video, we can see other four titles, including Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 3, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Thor: Love and Thunder, and Spider-Man: No Way Home.
