In 2016, Sony released one of the most popular horror movies, Don’t Breathe. Once it was on the screens, this movie could gross over $157 million with a budget of less than $10 million. Immediately after this film was out, its director Fede Alvarez announced that the sequel was in the works.
In the first part, Stephen Lang plays a role of a blind veteran whose house is attacked by a group of home invaders: Rocky (Jane Levy), Alex (Dylan Minnette), and Money (Daniel Zovatto). But they find themselves trapped. The group of invaders have to navigate through the darkness without making a single sound – not even breathing.
Yesterday, USA Today released a poster of the Don’t Breathe 2. We knew that it will go to screens this summer, on August 13. Though there is not much information about the plot, the poster claims what we knew before. Stephen Lang will be back to reprise his role as “the Blind Man” from the original movie. Moreover, we can see that he brandishes a hammer, probably showing he is ready to take on another group of home invaders. As more and more information began spreading, we hope the first official trailer is not too far off.
Don’t Breath 2 Filmed By The Same Team
Apart from the poster, USA Today also included a basic plot description for the Don’t Breathe 2. “Set years after the 2016 hit, the horror sequel catches up with blind veteran Norman Nordstrom (Stephen Lang), who’s been living in an isolated cabin but has his solace interrupted when past sins catch up to him.”
We don’t know who else will star in the film. But there are serious assumptions that Lang will have another meeting with Rocky (Jane Levy). If you remember, she escaped in the first part of the movie.
Don’t Breath 2 was directed by Rodo Sayagues. The film was shot on a screenplay co-written with original Don’t Breathe director Fede Alvarez. But their cooperation doesn’t end here. They were producing a project with Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert that was finished in October 2020. But no one knew that the sequels was being shot at that time.
“I’m wrapped! A Splendidly rugged shoot. Thank you, Belgrade. All health and safety protocols observed to the letter. Well done all!” Lang posted to Twitter.
